Mumbai: Salman Khan's bodyguard, Bollywood agent Shera has
been arrested for assault after he allegedly killed an acquaintance in DN Nagar
in the suburb of Andheri, police said Wednesday.
The incident occurred last night after Shera got into a
fight with an Attar Umar Qureshi on Link road, with whom she also had a heated
discussion earlier on the phone, said police inspector Dhanaji Nalawade of the
DN police station Nagar.
The altercation turned ugly when Shera allegedly hit
Qureshi.
Subsequently, the victim approached the police station and
filed a complaint after which Shera was registered under section 323
(punishment for causing harm voluntarily) and 326 of the IPC, the inspector
said.
The victim has been hospitalized in Andheri.
The reason behind the altercation is still unclear. In
addition, no arrests have been made so far in the case and further
investigation is under way.
"When Qureshi was passing Link Road with his friends,
he saw Shera and stopped his car," Mumbai police spokesman Ashok Dudhe said
in a statement.
Meanwhile, Qureshi received a call and as he spoke, an
altercation broke out between him and Shera, he said.
According to the spokesman, the complainant alleged that
Shera hit him with a cane and a but of pistol and it fled of the point.
